Tofino - Clayoquot-Orca Resort Lodge - getting here

There are two ways to get to Tofino and Clayoquot-Orca Resort Lodge by airplane or ferry.

 If you are arriving from abroad, nearest airports to Tofino, on the mainland:

  If you are arriving from abroad, nearest airports to Tofino, on Vancouver Island:

 Please note the new Passport Regulations from June 01, 2009.

 If you are arriving from Vancouver South Terminal, following airlines flying direct to Tofino:

If you depart from Vancouver on your way to Tofino, you can choose the ferry from Vancouver North to Nanaimo (Horseshoe Bay - Departure Bay). Reservations are recommended. As alternative choose Vancouver South to Nanaimo ( Tsawwassen - Duke Point) via BC Ferries.                         US sailings are, from Seattle choose the Victoria Clipper, from Port Angeles the Black Ball Ferry and from Anacortes The Washingthon State Ferry.

  

If you arrive by car from the British Columbia mainland, you have to take one of the above mentioned ferries. The ferry routes take just under 2 hours.

It is overall 3 hours travel time to reach Clayoquot-Orca Resort Lodge, Tofino from Nanaimo. Check the Road and Weather report in advance to avoid road construction or closure. Travel north on Highway 19 for 43 km (26 miles). Take Exit 60 onto Highway 4 heading west for 156 km (97 miles). You will drive through Cathedral Grove and Port Alberni along windy roads passing Sproat and Kennedy Lake, Sutton Pass. Travel along westwards until you reach the junction between Tofino and Ucluelet. Turn right and drive north towards Tofino for 28 km (17 miles), continue to drive through the Pacific Rim National Park.  Once you pass the Tofino Information Centre on your right drive towards Tofino for approximatley another 3 minutes, a large sign saying 'Clayoquot-Orca Resort Lodge' indicates your right turn from the highway. You have reached the lodge, now drive to the reception building ahead of you.
