Hiking in and around Tofino

...or rather a jungle safari? The temperate rain forest is actually, a jungle!

Imagine trees more than 1000 years old, towering along mountain ridges, evergreen canopies of the old-growth rainforest, spectacular lookouts, miles of sandy beaches offer endless hiking opportunities in Tofino and Clayoquot Sound.

The Pacific Rim National Park located between Tofino and Ucluelet offers 13 different hiking trails. Pacific Rim National Park  presents the rich natural and cultural heritage of Canada's west coast. Its cool and wet maritime climate produces an abundance of life in the water and on land. Lush coastal temperate rainforest gives way to bountiful and diverse intertidal and sub tidal areas. These natural wonders are interwoven with the long and dynamic history of the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations and European explorers and settlers. A parking permit is required and can be purchased in Visitor Centers or in the park.

Located across from Tofino is Meares Island. Foremost Lone Cone Mountain Hike (4-6hours) and Nuu chah nulth hike (1.5 hours) are popular trails, both accessible by Water taxi. Enjoy the sensational view over Clayoquot sound and Tofino.

Sturdy boots, layeres clothing with good all weather jackets are a must!!
